The Arizona Republic has an article up that talks about some good Spanish language CD programs that you can listen to while driving. Some are even designed especially for kids.
Driving your car is a great place to learn to speak Spanish. Especially if you’re a parent and spend a lot of time in the car with your kid(s). Here are a few good choices:
Learn in Your Car Spanish begins with simple one-word phrases, counting, and nouns designed to mimic the learning processes of children. They also have other languages – Chinese, Italian, Japanese, German, French, and Russian. The course contains a booklet and two 90-minute CDs.
Drive-in Spanish for Kids is designed for 3 to 8 year old kids. It’s great for developing comprehension through songs featured on a 45-minute CD. The course also comes with a booklet that has both Spanish and English lyrics.
Basic Spanish: Learn to Speak and Understand Spanish with Pimsleur Language Programs. This course offers a lot of repetition, so it’s very effective in helping you get everything right. Each lesson is short enough to be completed between stoplights.
The Let’s Learn Spanish Coloring Book is great for your kids. The book consists of 80 common words, such as body parts and animals.
